chrome light ring is turning black

My chrome light ring is turning black and I have had it replaced 3 times now. My pool is only 1 year old. Any ideas of what is wrong...I have checked ph, etc...my pool company has no idea what is going on. Thanks

You don't say whether the chrome is turning black with algae, or whether it is discoloring.

Also is the chrome really chrome or is it chrome-looking plastic or other material?
