running the filters

running the filters
I am a new pool owner, I have a above ground 18ft blow up pool. Do I run the filter system all the time. or just at night? What about running it with the Solar blanket or cover on? any help will be a welcome.

Summertime 8-12 hours during the day
Wintertime 6-8 hours at coldest part of night
You can run it with a cover on if you like as long as water can go into the pump without restriction
