Water starts to go brown

I just filled my pool with water (well water that has a water softner on it ) and every time i try to add chlorine the water wants to turn brown......my PH is about normal and I have been lowering the TA, which is near 120..Hardness level is slightly above normal....what can be done to add chlorine with out getting the brown water

The brown water is the result of the chlorine oxydizing the iron in the water. Use a chelating agent to prevent this from happening.
