Insta-pool only 3100gallons need help

Postby Daisy » Fri 15 Jun, 2007 18:56

I have looked around the site but I did not find any info for small pools. I have only got a 3100gallon pool for the kids( the kind with the blow up ring at the top. I have set it up but cannot get water to clear. It turned brown when shock was added. Had water tested and they advised me to shock again using 1 and 1/2 cups and then use 250ml of an algaecide. I have did this with no improvement. Is it safe to repeat procedure and what is the maximum amount of each I can use? My neighbor suggested that I dump in a jug of Javex in it instead...I am at a loss, I have never had this happen before. From looking at the different forums and reading my troubleshooting guide I figure that the water must be too hard? Any suggestions or maximum amounts too use would be great.

If it turned brown right away when you added chlorine, then it is copper and/or iron in your water.

Have your water tested for metals and treat appropriately with a metal sequestriant.
