Cloudy water from milkshake in pool.

Postby KellyPumpkin » Wed 20 Jun, 2007 20:03

I have a 3,000 gallon pop up pool.
Not sure what type of filter exact but it takes a C cart.

We all use sunscreen, and there had always been kind of a layer of oil on the top I just made sure to clean/ replace the cartirage and never had any problems.

Chlorine was always between 1.0-3.0 at the highest usually at 2.0.
PH- at 7.2-7.6. I had to add soda ash to it a lot but it was NEVER cloudy.

About last week it started to get a bit cloudy and I noticed a lot of pollen in it. So I added clarifier and vaccumed. I shocked it with shock and swim.
Which I do twice a week due to small pool and lots of kids and just high traffic.
It was still kind of cloudy a BIT and the pollen remined. I now cover at night just getting the remainer out is hard.

My son was swimming and was thirsty, dumb I know but i handed him his milkshake...and he dropped it.

Needless to say the mildly cloudy water problem is now a BIG problem.
As soon as it happed I added shock and swim....

I've bene adding that daily now it's been 3 days and still it's just not clearing up.

Any advice for the milkshake and the pollen would be greatly appreciated.
I have NO idea how to get it out.

TY.

Get a "scumball" and drop it in your skimmer basket. They work wonders.

The scumball is jut for oils, etc. The milkshake is going to take shocking, filtering and time. Be sure to run your pump 24/7 until things clear up.
