I'm broke from pool chemicals

Postby kelly jenkins » Fri 22 Jun, 2007 16:11

I opened my soft sided11,000 pool about one month ago. It was green like pea soup. For the last month I have gone to area pool stores ( they both have the Alex program to test), and they have given me different..expensive advice. THe pool is no longer green but I can't see more than about one foot down, if that.
Sunday I put 15 lbs of shock in, Wednesday they sold me another algeacide and Power Floc - I'm hundreds in the hole, and my pool looks NO different. I could really just cry because my kids are going crazy and I've spent money that I did not have to spend.
The pool store tells me that there is some"really tough stuff this year keeping pools cloudy" That is not really helping. Any advice???

Test readings please - a full set.

Get a good test kit and do your own testing. It's a lot more reliable. Once you get the hang of it, you can do a full set of testing for under 10 minutes and you can do a quick chlorine, pH test in 2 minutes.

Get a Taylor test kit
