Stuck Pool Cover Anchors

Postby Harriet » Sat 23 Jun, 2007 05:48

I have several "stuck" pool cover anchors. Some are in the up position, but due to dirt I cannot budge them. Has anyone found a way to loosen the dirt? I have tried baking soda and vinegar, power washing, etc. Help! Harriet

Can you unscrew them completely until the come out? I have had to do that on a few of time that were stubborn. Then you can wash out the receptacle and screw them down flush.

I have been able to remove 19 of the 32 anchors. I cannot budge the remainder, so I can't unscrew them all the way. With skinned knuckles and broken nails, I gave up. I cleaned the 19 and they screw back without a problem. Is there any tool other than what came with my Loop Lock cover that will assist?

Have you tried WD40 spray as you wiggle the anchor with the tool? Go around and spray the anchors, wait about 15 minutes, spray again, the stuff penetrates, then try to remove - there miay be other brands of penetrating lubricants besides WD40 but I don't know of any --
