prime the vacuum hose on my above ground pool? All I do is stand by the return for it seems like hours to get it filled with water.

It doesn't seem to work very well. Any suggestions?

Is your return not very strong?

I dump the vacuum and hose in the pool, filling the hose by submersing as much as possible first.

You can always use a garden hose to fill the hose.
