Pool construction

Hello,
I’m in the planning stages of building a 18’x36’ block wall pool with vinyl liner. I plan to pour a 12” D x 36” W footer. I would bring rebar up thru the footer into about 6 courses of block and fill the block cavities. I’m planning on using sand or vermiculite/mortar for the floor.
I am also considering a Hayward variable speed Super Pump, unsure of size and a Hayward DE filter. Which pump and size filter would you recommend? Also 1 1/2” or 2” plumbing? Thanks for any help you could give.

You would be better off contracting with a concrete form company to pour you a 48'' high wall with 3 rows of rebar VS concrete blocks..Make sure your grade is set correctly and the excavation is within 1/2" and use 3/4 inch crushed stone as a base for the concrete wall...1 1/2 inch poly pipe or rigid PVC will be fine.Install all your return fitting afterward or put sleeves in the wall/opening for skimmer.
