hello i have a inground 11000 gal saltwater pool and my alk is around 180 ph 7.8 total clorine is ok and so is free clorine i bought some ph minus sodium bisulfate and it says to use about 6-8 lbs to get it down 40-60 points but i have to add it in small amounts over several days how much should i add should i even worry about my alk at that lvl and should the pool be off limits while i am treating it to lower the alk any help would be nice i am new to this pool thing :)

You cannot lower TA permanently through acid addition alone. It takes way too long. Only a combination of aeration and acid addition lowers TA and this happens faster at lower pH. Follow the procedure in this post to lower your TA.
