Mineral Stains in Vinyl Pool

Postby Guest » Wed 04 Jul, 2007 09:42

We have an 18 foot above ground with a vinyl liner.
After we finally got the water cleared up and its been crystal clear, there is a light stain on the ladder, entrie walls, and bottom of the pool.

Someone told me to take a Vit C tablet and if it comes off its mineral. Which I did and it came right off. In fact I dropped one tablet in the pool and you can see where it was as there is a nice pretty blue streak and the brown is gone.

What do you suggest I use to get rid of the mineral stain?

Let's review. Stains all over pool. Vitamin C tablet removes stains.

It would seem to me you need...(drum roll)...MORE VITAMIN C! (They call me "captain obvious")

Vitamin C is Ascorbic Acid. You can treat your entire pool with it following THESE INSTRUCTIONS near the bottom. Click the exclamation point.

Thanks for the input!!!

I figured it was Vit C that would take care of the problem, but I assume that one cannot just go into a store and buy a pound of Vit C.

Where can you buy asorbic acid???

Actually you can get it in bulk from several places.

Get it here for $27 for 3lbs.

HERE is a guy selling it on eBay. 3lbs for $34.99.

And another from a chemical supply house.

And...it's good for you too!
