hose looses vacumn

My vacumn hose looses it vacumn after a few minutes. I have checked to see if there is an obstruction but hose water flows through freely. What else can I check.

How many skimmers are there? If there is two and the drain is also intaking, the flow is using the path of least resistance. Plug up the other skimmer or adjust the valves to close the drain while you vacuum.
