Sand lost from filter with hose disconnect

Postby Guest » Thu 12 Jul, 2007 23:27

We have some weird electrical wiring around the house and the outlet running the pump has tripped a few times. I think what's happening is when the power goes out for the outlet to the pump, water backs up and causes the hose to disconnect--it's happened twice now. Consequently some sand has come out from the filter. I came home and found the pool to be quite drained and hose disconnected and sand in a litle pile where it had drained out.

My concern is this:
I notice quite a bit of sand was lost from filter...lets say if I put it all together....2-4 cups. Is this something to be concerned with?
