Intex Krystal Clean Poolwater System

Does anyone know if this system is better for well water with a lot of iron in it than the regular chlorine chemicals that are put in pools? Putting chlorine in our well water causes it to turn brown and murky.

Also - If I have already filled my pool and put in chemicals can I start this system or do I need to drain the pool and re-fill it?
