brushing, filter care, filter cleaning, replacing

New to all this

I cleaned the fingers on my filter and am ready to reassemble. Before I do, am I supposed to fill the filter with water? Sorry for a dumb question, but I'm new to all of this.

Yes, you are to fill the tank about 1/2 full of water. This helps cushion the sand and keeps the laterals from becoming damaged.
