How often to change DE?

Postby corky » Thu 19 Jul, 2007 07:54

I know that if the pressure on a DE filter goes to 8 to 10psi I should change the DE, but we have a large filter for our pool and after a month of running it, the psi hasn't changed. Should we change the DE after a certain time period (to prevent DE from caking up or getting hard)? At this rate, it seems we wouldn't have to change our DE for the whole season.

Nope. If your pool is clean it will just take much longer before the filter media is full is junk and needs to be backwashed.

Enjoy your clean pool!
