Cement coping cracking/spalling

Postby tbelcher » Mon 05 Jun, 2023 23:33

The cement coping around our 16 year old pool is starting to crack and fall apart (photo links at the bottom). Definitely worse around the spa, but I can see it in other areas as well.  Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any suggestions for how to repair and prevent it from getting worse? I'm just learning of "spalling" and that what this seems to be. If there's no repair, what's involved in demoing the coping and starting over (sounds expensive, so not my first option.....)

Thanks,

Tim

Yep, replacement is the only cure.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
