Cover the pool..
Would it be practical to cover the pool over winter. I want a solid, see through cover, something good for things like parties.

The main advantages of pool covers are:
1. keep the debris, dust, pollution out of the pool
2. keep the sunlight away from the water to prevent algea and so keep the water cool to slow the rate of algea and bacteria growth
A transparent pool cover would necessitate increased pool maintenance in the winter. You would have to run the pump and add chemicals more frequently than that needed with a lightproof pool cover.
