I have a large rust spot that is getting bigger every season.... Can I just use a rust proofing pool paint and then replaster or do I need to have someone come out and cut it out and repatch it? [/b]

How did this rust mark happen?
Does this seem to be pool rebar coming through plaster?
If your going to replaster, they could fix this area. If rebar is showing through it's time to replaster as plaster is thin.

If you're lucky it's an isolated area. It can be repaired underwater by a diver. Cost should run about $250 to $350.
