plywood pool walls

Postby jimkris » Sun 18 Nov, 2007 13:24

We are getting ready to install a 16'x35' inground swimming pool this winter. The last contractor that we consulted gave us a quote of $18,140.00. Which is pretty reasonable it seems. The problem that we are having is this: the walls of the pool are to be constructed of plywood that he sends to a company to be treated. He claims that they are treated with the same material as utility (light) poles are treated with. He and his father have built poles this way for over 30 yrs. Does this sound ok??
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have opossums, skunks and other various varmints and when it gets cool out you can hear them burrowing under the concrete, through the stone around the pool and scratching on the steel walls around the pool. It seems like they are trying to build their nest, or whatever they build, as close to the warm water as possible.
I've tried to keep them away but they just dig below any barrier.
If I had plywood walls there would be raccoons doing the backstroke in my pool.
