Poor air quality in pool

Postby edemac » Thu 10 Jan, 2008 11:05

I'm having problems with the air quality in our swimming pool. I run the chlorine at about 2.0 because of the heavy use. & my ph is at 7.5. We have a desert aire system that has been checked several times & have found no problems with the unit. The air is worst in the morning, during swimming practice. The swimmers call it death air. I am now trying to pull more water off the top of the pool then from the bottom drains. I’ve back washed, shocked, put fans in the area, but nothing has worked. Any clues?

Chloramines

Measure the combined chlorine. You will probably find the value is quite high. If it is the case, you are not using enough shock.

Post the levels of free chlorine, combined chlorine, pH, total alkalinity and CYA here for more help.
