Pebble Tec vs River Rok vs Plaster

Postby Jim » Tue 25 Apr, 2006 00:03

I am going to have my pool replastered. Can anyone give me an objective opinion between River Rok and Pebble Tec? Are there other pebble type finishes that I should consider? Also, are the pebble type finishes worth $3,000 to $4,800 more than conventional plaster?

Also, it is being suggested that I have an in-line salt-based chlorine generator installed. This is supposed to eliminate the need for conventional chlorine. Any experience-based opinions about this product would be welcome. Thanks.

pebbles vs plaster

The pebble tek finish is superior, in that it lasts 20 years or more. Plaster has a life of about 8-10 years. So, the cost is about even. Pebble tec looks better, can help heat a cold pool, and ads a new dimension of interest to the pool. Don't listen to distractors that say it is rough on the feet, I am very tenderfooted, and I love it.

Don't know anything about River Rok, but we have a Pebble Tec, and I agree with Jim, it doesn't hurt my feet at all.
