Solar cover and Fish

Postby Ron » Sun 17 Feb, 2008 14:51

Newbie here.

We've had our above ground pool for 2 years. All went well except the lack of heat, though it seems o.k. for young ones. It was o.k. for a few weeks but not what I hoped for.

What is the deal with the fish? Can these be used instead of the solar cover, or in addition to the solar cover? Do they work?

Quality of solar cover - I think we paid about $50 for ours. Would a $200-$300 cover help much?

Also, I'd like to not deal with the solar cover if possible. I would use the pool much more frequently if I could go in for 20-30 minutes after doing yard work, etc. Dealing with the cover is not worth for this amount of time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Davey

I also have this dilemma. I hate taking off and putting on the cover so don't get to swim too often.

I looked at an automatic cover but it's beyond our budget. I'm thinking of maybe putting in a small heater.
