tough hard hoses

I am re-installing my pump and the hoses are hard plastic which go over a compresion fitting which in turn you tighten a hose clamp onto, every year I take them on and off and its murder, do you have any tips for getting them on and off my last pool had spa hoses with fitting these were much easier, is there some sort of gunk that makes the hose slide easier???

Try warming the ends of the hoses in very hot water. They will soften and become easier to manage.

I use a heat gun, it's like a blow dryer for your hair only a whole lot hotter.
