Auto Pool Cover Repair

First off new to this forum and Hello to all and look forward to all the help I can get from everyone.

Now for the problem, last summer my daughter failed to remove all the water on our auto pool cover when she began to open it, the rope broke.

Question any ideas or experience on how difficult it is going to be to repair the rope. And if so, step by step for repair.

Each year I always get to be the pool repair man! LOL, but I love it.
