Pressure builds up and goes down to zero

the pump was running well till today. Now the visible water where the basket is fills up, pressure goes to 10 or so. then it returns back to zero. this process continues. what could be the cause or this and what is the fix?

do you have enough water in pool? when water is low pump will keep going dry & then try to reprime its self.

do you have a suction cleaner in pool? if hose has a hole it will cause air in pump.

is pump lid o-ring lubed?

Your sucking air somewhere before the pump.
