draining an above ground?

Postby STF » Sat 10 May, 2008 16:23

I just bought a house with an above ground and it sat for a little over a year with no maintenance. I want to drain it and I thought I could just use the pool pump to do it. What I did was cunt the line from the skimmer to the pump and install a T fitting so that I could attach a garden hose to it. Then I capped the top of the skimmer with a plug and some Teflon tape. I'm getting suction but not very much.

Any help. I will try and get some pics up if I can to help illustrate the problem.

Just treat the water.

I don't understand why you want to drain it... :?:

you CUNT the line from the skimmer?? hehe...

never cut anything rule number 1.... number 2 just buy a small cover pump or a sub pump from home depot... as long as the pool isnt half in ground hale above.. u should be fine draining it... Isd the pool COMPLETELY above ground??

Its not a BAD idea to drain the pool.. but u dont HAVE to.. u could always treat it with the right chemicals and put some elbow grease into it, but draining it and being able to scrub the liner is always nice to do...
a SAFE pool is a HAPPY pool...
