Fiberglass Resurface problems

Postby katlouke » Sat 10 May, 2008 21:26

I had my in ground gunite pool resurfaced with fiberglass. Now the water turns chalky or milky looking when swimming. Also there is now a blister about 2 feet in diameter on the bottom. Resurfacing company will take no resposibility for problems. Does anyone know what exactly causes this to happen. I need some facts to fight them so that I can get it fixed!

Sound like they didn't properly acid wash the surface before installing the new surface. Is it Fibre-Tech? Mine has been repaired every single season since it was installed in 2002 because they didn't do it right the first time!

The chalkiness is because who ever did the pool did not do it right. This was caused by the surface coat or as we call it (top coat) not done correctly as for the blister that was most likely caused by poor prep job.
