1/2 inch wrinkle leak how to fix

In the deep end of my pool there is a 1/2 small wrinkle and my pool cleaner has rubbed the top of the wrinkle off causing a 1/2 hole in my liner.
How would I go about repairing this kind of leak?

I was thinking about cutting the wrinkle so it will be flat and patch it when it is flat.
