Ok I have a new 12x21 abg pool with filter and chlorinator....

I plan on buying some 3inch chlorine tabs- can i use 1 inch one a day tabs in my chlorinator- even if they say fast disolving?
A pool test kit- any recommendations?
What other chemicals should i have on hand to place a semi big order at once?
How about shock - last year i had my pool for about 3 weeks and was regularly putting in a gallon of shock a week. Is the granular shock just as good- any recommendations?

What does shock actually include? or do?

Any help is appreciated?

Bleach- unscented clorox for chlorine or you can use the 3" slow dissolve but these will add to your cyanuric acid levels
Baking Soda- regular arm and hammer to rasie alkalinity
Cyanuric Acid- stablaizes the chlorine
Muriatic Acid- lowers pH and alkalinity

Or you can go with what the pool store recommends and spen a TON of money
