DE powder escaping filter, clogs Polaris hose filter screen

I have been having a problem noticed last week when i installed a new polaris 360. DE powder is escaping my filter and clogging the filter screen on the wall connector at the end of the polaris pressure hose. My pressure in the filter run way up, and the polaris ceases operation. I have backwashed twice this week trying to solve the problem, what the heck is going on. Could it have something to do with the filter valve -- you know the valve where you do the backwashing, rinsing, etc. -- i have a hayward de filter and hayward valve both about 8 years old.

If it is DE that is clogging the screen in the polaris then chances are there is a rip in the filter grids and the grids need to be replaced. What type of Hayward DE filter is it because it could also be a gasket.
