Hey everyone,
40' x 23' irregular plaster pool. 3' to 6' depth. All pentair equipment.
This is my first post so I hope it is in the right spot. I have searched through a bunch of the forums and I find some posting on draining the pool but never for a nitrate problem.
I went to three different pool companies in my area and they are saying that my nitrate levels are off the charts. They also told me that the only thing I can do is drain the pool.
If I fully drain the pool do I have to pull the pressure plugs? Can I empty it and refill it right away without any issues. I am so afraid of having the pool "Pop" as they say and it becoming a floating pool.
I would rather empty 3/4 of the water and refill and just deal with whatever nitrates are left which should be reduced by 3/4, right?
When I asked them how I got the high nitrates they said from grass fertilizer, which I know have shot some pellets in from when I fertiled the backyard grass. Needless to say my backyard will never see fertilizer again!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
