Leak

Postby turnbeaugh » Sun 25 May, 2008 17:49

I was losing about an inch of water a day. Did the bucket test and determined I have a leak. Turned everything off for a week and the water stopped leaking once it reached the bottom of the skimmer face plate. The skimmer itself still was full of water so I don't think the skimmer itself is leaking. Can the face plate itself leak? I tightened all of the screws. None of them are really loose. Now what do I do? Thanks for your help.

You could have a leak where the throat of the skimmer meets the wall. With the system off, try squirting some red food coloring around this area and see if it is being pulled anywhere.
