Pool sand filter problem

Postby Pool Helper » Sun 07 May, 2006 15:30

If this happens all the time your filter sand is probably either scaled up, the level is too low, or needs replacing.

Open the cover and check the level and consistency, and push your hand in looking for clumps or lumps. Report your findings back here for the next steps. Please include as much info as possible in order for me to make an accurate diagnosis.

the part that is called the access dome

Yes. You need to open this up to get to the sand.

pool presure

Postby joykiller » Sat 20 May, 2006 17:06

If I add a solar system and a propain heating system to a pool/ spa combo will it affect my pool pump presure. It seems like my pool has little presure. This is a fairly new pool but the solar panels and propain heater was added after the pool was installed. I have a 1 1/2 hp pump.

Solar should have independant pump, so shouldn't affect filter pressure.

Gas heater shouldn't have major effect on filter pum pressure.

Can anyone shed some light on why my DE Filter is shooting up in pressure even after I backwash, also when I turn it back on after backwash it flows well then dies of after 20 seconds and that is when the pressure shoots up. ANY ADVICE would be appreciated. Also I have replaced the Push Pull Orings
