Pool Resurfacing

I am adding a spa to my existing Gunite/Plaster pool and have received several recommendations to resurface with fiberglass (as well as some dissenting opinions). I'm only a pool owner and not a pool professional, so I'd welcome any input regarding the plusses and minuses of using fiberglass foor this project ...

If the plaster needs resurfacing then fiberglass is a good option. No need to resurface for the sake of it.
