media master filter loosing suction while cleaning pool

I have a media master model 0-1702-019 sand filter.When I first turn on the pump there is good pressure exiting the water return jet into the pool.When I start to vacuum the pool I loose pressure gradualy until there is hardly any pressure at all, this happens in about ten minutes.Has anyone come across this problem or have any ideas?

I would check the vacuum hose for leaks. If you have a leak there it will draw air in and eventually you'll lose prime at the pump.
