Diamond Tile on Steps

I have been searching endlessly for a picture of the diamond tiles touching one another on ends of the steps. I can find squares touching one another, diamond tiles spaced out, mosaics touching one another – is there a reason that it’s not recommended for tiles to touch one another in the diamond shape?? The tiles for the steps match the waterline tile but they are 2x2, however, an example of any size would be great. I have to decide today how to set these tiles up – I am exhausted with this new pool stuff – please help!! I am begging!
