help... cloudy water due to diatomic elements

Postby jcali915 » Tue 22 Jul, 2008 13:00

um.. i have a problem with my pool..

its been about 3 weeks since our pool was open.. and it never became clear.. i leave the filter and polaris running constantly, but nothing is working. we also constantly shock the pool..

i believe the problem is the diatomic elements we use with our filter.. it seems that the DE was released into the pool water.. we went on vacation and turned off the polaris... when we got back, there was layers of DE on the steps and the pool was a little bit clearer...

is there any way to remove the DE on the bottom of the pool? do you think that there is a problem with my filter and its not filtering properly?

plz help

DE in the pool can be vacuumed out once it settles on the bottom.

I would take the filter apart and look for holes or tears in the grids.

The DE ( Diatomacious Earth) will settle overnight with the filter pump off. You can then vacuum it up.
