im having problems with my vacuum and the sucktion strength

the pump runs fine and its sucking water becuse i can see it splashing in the pump.(its also running kinda weak and having bursts of sucktion.) but when i change the two valves leading into the pump (drain and skimmer) it stays at the same amount of water comming in. but nothing is happening to the skimmer...it doesnt pull anything in. what could be wrong? thanks for the help

I responded to you on the other thread before I saw this one.

1. Is the pump full of water when running or only partially full?
2. Close skimmer line and open drain line. Note pressure on filter.
3. Close main drain line and open skimmer line. Note pressure on filter. Does it drop?
