Small Indentations on Pool Bottom

Postby TFO » Tue 05 Aug, 2008 09:09

I recently had a 17' above ground pool installed on a sand base. Over the course of 3 months, about a dozen small indentations have formed on the pool floor. In size, they range from the size of a big toe up to smaller than a heel and not very deep. Is this something to be concerned about? Is this a common issue with above ground pools? The water level has remained pretty constant so leaking isn't a problem. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I install above ground pools, sounds like there might have been something buried under the pool (such as stumps) that are rotting, or the land was filled previously and the pockets inderground are giving away to the pressure of the water.

There shouldn't be a problem if you compact the sand before putting up the pool.
