ambre solaire staining pool grout

Postby fatmoggy104 » Tue 05 Aug, 2008 14:22

hi all,
Can anybody help . i have been cleaning a couple of pools for six months or more with no problems ( i live in spain.)
The problem is a couple of weeks ago all of a sudden a greeny slime appeared in the corner at the waterline about 2 metres long i have brushed it but its back, the owners have told me they are using ambre solaire sun block which is the same cream as what the owners of the other pool are using and it has the same problem. any suggestion how to get rid of it for ever.
Ph is fine
alk is fine
chlorine is fine

many thanks

I to have exactly the same problem with my pools here in Spain. It is not the type of sun cream, it is the amount and the high factor creams, which cause this problem, and it can get a lot worse. sticky guey mess will attach itself everywhere, So far the only solution I have found that works, is to lower the level of the pool a few centimeters, then using a proprietary
Kitchen grease removers(such a cilletbang, cif) spray on leave a while and wipe off.
