I live in Ohio and have always used a strong mesh cover in the winter. Lately I've been wondering why. I wonder if I could just drain the pump and filter as always, throw in jugs (freezing buffers) and leave the cover off. The pool is enclosed by two fences and I plan to remove all leaves after they've come down in the fall.
Thoughts?
