We are currently in the process of moving into a home with a pool that has been abandon 4 2 yrs. It only has about 3 to 4 ft of water in it now. It appears to be 3 to 6 feet when full. First off it is a fiberglass pool so I have conserns about draining it to clean it. Willit be alright to drain? The bottom of the pool is nothing but mud, leaves sticks, and lord knows what else because I cant see it. I have gotten the alge off the top but am at a lose on the the bottom. I'm afraid if I vaccum the amount of stuff off the bottom it will break the filter system?!?!?!? I know nothing about this at all?? Someone please help in a step by step way>> Ph means nothing to me......Can I just poor bleach in it to clear it up or will that help any?????????I would love to just drain it and do it right..

If you drain it, you run the risk of it popping out and then your screwed.

How bout some hip waders, a leaf rake and a telescopic pole with a rubbermaid garbage can?

That seems like your best bet. You DO NOT want to try and suck that up with your vac!
