MAIN DRAIN PROBLEM

Postby rn9954rn » Mon 25 Aug, 2008 10:40

I HAVE 3 JANDY VALVES GOING INTO THE PUMP, LABELED SKIMMER, CLEANER, AND MAIN DRAIN. I ALWAYS HAVE SKIMMER ON AND CLEANER ON WHEN CLEANER IS HOOKED UP. THE POOL VAC HAS BEEN STICKING IN DEEP END ON DRAINS. SO IS THE MAIN DRAIN VALVE SUPPOSE TO BE ON OR OFF? OUR PITTIFUL POOL BUILDER WHEN OUT OF BUSINESS FOLLOWING BUILDING OUR POOL AND WE GOT NO INSTRUCTIONS. MY OTHER JANDY VALVES ARE LABELED RETURN, SPA 1 SPA 2 AND WATER FEAUTURES.

I would turn the main drain line off. The pool vac is working as a main drain. When the main drain is on it may be holding the pool vac as it goes over the drain.
