Pool Plumbing

Postby Guest » Sat 11 Oct, 2008 16:52

Ok, I am a newbie to this site. I have a question concerning pool plumbing. My system is set up where I have suction from two skimmers (one at each end) The deep end has two holes in bottom of skimmer and I am assuming that it is for suction from pool drain. However I do not know if this is actually occcuring. Most of the pools I have seen have a suction line directly from the drain and you split suction from skimmers and main. I cannot however do this. Does this seem correct?

The reason I am asking is because I have a recurring algae problem where I can shock and flock the pool and get it clear. I then will loose clarity and get algae in the next 10 days or so. My belief is that I am not getting enough turn over in the pool with suction coming from just the top. I do have a water feature that runs a couple hours a day but I don't know if this is helping with turn over.

Does anyone have any thoughts.
