Autofill install questions

Postby tigerpilot » Tue 11 Nov, 2008 20:50

Inground concrete pool. I want to add a built-in autofill unit (Pentair) to my pool. What is the proper way to bore the hole for the equalizer (fill) PVC pipe and do I just use hydraulic cement to pack around the PVC fill pipe to keep it from leaking? I think the wall is about 8" thick. My plan is to drain enough water to use a large masonry drill bit and then just kind of punch a scrap piece of pipe the remaining 18" to to reach the place where I can bury and plumb the auto-fill unit.
I will appreciate any hints or helpful comments.

sounds really good but it is not that easy. trust me . read up on it before you do it , you just might have a leaky mess when your all done. google it and look at the diagrams. i have installed them on a re model but you need to realy rip the conctete around it up. its not to fun, my suggestion. continue with the hose ...
