TIKI TORCH FUEL IN POOL WATER

Postby RDC » Fri 26 Dec, 2008 13:04

CAN ANYONE GIVE ADVICE ON REMOVING FUEL/OIL (TIKI TORCH TYPE) FROM THE WATER IN MY INGROUND POOL? THE TORCH TURNED OVER AND SPILLED INTO THE POOL WATER AND IS NOW FLOATING ON TOP OF THE WATER. THE PUMP IS NOT ON CURRENTLY.

I had a fountain once where there pump blew it's guts and spilled bearing lub in the fountain, I bought a some sponges used for picking up oil and also used some "pool first aid" made by "natural chemistry", seemed to do the trick.

Oil on water

Try a "scumball" - nifty little synthetic ball that floats and attracts oil, scum etc ..

GOOD ADVICE

THANK YOU FOR BOTH REPLIES ON OIL/FUEL IN POOL WATER. WE WERE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE SCUMBALLS AND POOL FIRST AID FROM OUR LOCAL PINCH-A-PENNY POOL SUPPLY STORE AND THE WATER IS LOOKING MUCH BETTER ALREADY. THANKS FOR THE GOOD ADVICE.
