Pentiar valve

I have a Pentair valve and last fall replaced the gasket. The last few weeks, I am hearing a funny sound in the valve. It sounds like something is moving around, like loose debris. It also sounds like something is on the pipe going to the valve. I am not sure how anything can get to the part of the plumping, it would have had to get through the pump basket first and I can't see how that can happen. It almost sounds like small rocks in the valve and pvc pipe going to the valve. Does the valve have barrings or something that can go back and make this sound/
