Waterways Filter Problem

I just bought an above ground pool and I need help ASAP!!! It's one of the fat Waterway filters and I have two hoses. I don't know where to put them. There is a place on the filter that says "To Pool". Do I put it in the connection where the skimmer is or the side of the pool. And there are also these silver things that came with the filter. What are those for exactly? There is a screw in it so I can't even tighten it with my finger. Anyone familular with Waterways filters please help. The instructions are not enough. Need help ASAP...a diagram would help

Well, i dont know much about pools yet, but the Skimmer is the where water leaves the pool and goes off to your filter and pump. The port that says "to pool" should be connected into the jet or water inlet inside the pool.

I really hate it when instructions do not tell you anything.
Where there's a will theres a way... I think
