New Pool owner question about vacuming

Postby ummsafiya » Thu 21 May, 2009 20:35

is it okay that i vacummed right after i added my chemicals (of Algaecide, Iron Out and 1 lb. of Shock)? Also, my plaster is 2 weeks old, was it okay that i vacummed at all?

hoping i didn't damage my pool,

Hi,

Normally you would wait a bit after adding chemicals before vacuuming. Not a big deal though.

2 weeks is a common time to wait before using a vacuum. When you brush the pool are you still seeing plaster dust? If you are, I would put off the vacuuming (unless you have a brush vacuum) until all the dust is gone.
